Meet the Maker

Hello and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m Loretta, the face (and hands) behind Hey Lenny. My journey with ceramics began over four years ago at a local pottery studio in Torquay. Aside from a few casual classes, I’d had little experience with clay — but once I found my rhythm, I was hooked.

Creativity has always been part of my world. After high school, I went on to study architecture and interior design, eventually landing what felt like a dream role at a small interiors firm. While I gained valuable experience, I quickly realised I was craving a more hands-on, creative outlet — something beyond the screen.

That search led me into interior styling, where I assisted on photoshoots for some of Australia’s leading stylists and brands. After a few years juggling freelance styling work, I felt the pull of the coast. I grew up in Melbourne, but the Surf Coast has always felt like home — it’s where I learned to surf with my dad and where I’ve always felt most grounded and inspired.

Moving to Torquay refuelled my creativity and it’s here that Hey Lenny was born. I’ve long dreamed of running my own creative business and this journey has been shaped by years of learning, refining my style and being mentored by an incredible community of women-led small businesses. I feel so lucky to now be carving out my own path, one piece at a time.
